I love this product! I used Ecowood to stain my new 10’ x 25’ pressure treated wood deck last fall. I used white paint to tint it as directed. I sprayed it on with a garden sprayer. It could not have been easier to use, and looks gorgeous. I get compliments on it all the time and everyone (including the guys who built my deck) asks me what I used to get such nice results. After watching a few YouTube videos and talking to ecowood folks about the product I did the following: I used a paint mixer attached to my drill to thoroughly mix the powder with water in a bucket. I strained it as I poured it into the sprayer. I shook the sprayer often to keep it mixed evenly. I sprayed heavily because I wanted a heavier white tint. If you’re not tinting this may be unnecessary. I have thin turned spindles on my deck railing and ended up using a sponge and a brush to evenly coat these because spraying was inefficient. I sprayed all cut ends and the underside where I could for fuller wood protection. It took me a couple of days but since there’s no issues with foot prints, streaks, or uneven drying it was fine. Spray got all over my lawn and shrubs but they were unharmed. Initially the deck was slippery, but after regular use it’s now fine. Ecowood told me that the white tint would fade to the untinted silvery gray over time (a few years). The color has held up so far, but on the high traffic areas I can see more of the gray already. It’s still beautiful and I think the aging process will be fine aesthetically. IMHO you seriously can’t beat this for environmental friendliness, easy DIY, and great results.Only time and the weather will tell if this product lives up to its claims. Easy to use and definitely turns the wood a nice ash gray. I allowed the wood ends to wick the solution up into the grain for better penetration. Not sure if just brushing on a coat would provide the same protection? This could not be easier to use. I used this for a beehive. And watching it change color as it aged was pretty interesting. The wood is holding up great. Goes on so very easy! And the fact that it is safe for everything! This stuff will oxidize lumber quickly making it look like it’s been out in the weather for years. I use it on rough sawn boards and then seal then with a clear sealant to make rustic furniture, doors, etc. We even covered an ugly gluelam beam in my daughter’s house with 1”x 8” boards treated with this stuff. Just mix it with water in a garden sprayer and soak the wood with it. The rougher the wood surface the better. Then let it sit in the sun or a well lit room for a couple of days and bam it’s 50 year old barnwood. And you can spray it on concrete, grass or wherever and it won’t hurt the ground it’s on. No cleanup needed.Goes on quick covers well. Using on bee hive box so can not say how long it lastsEasy application and cleanup!!!I used this on a new redwood fence and it immediately looked like the older silvery colored fence. Non toxic, you can even roll it on with a roller and get the edges with a brush. Oxidizes the wood so it won’t rot. Instant results. Safe for everyone wash up with water. Won’t stain youEasy to use and looks great
