the title says it. The brush is really on the big side - at least for normal people. Maybe professionals would have a use for it. The large size makes it a bit on the heavy side, and the way it holds a lot of paint makes is heavy when it is loaded.But it is easy to clean and the shape of the bristles really makes it do a good job at cutting along an edge.This Is my favorite brush all around. Holds a lot of paint, glides like butter, and makes straight lines no problem.Was very sceptical. Takes about 5 mins to break in after that it's all butter compared to purdy xl glide 1 dip to purdy 3. Ordered 12 more amazing highly recommend.This brush is the best brush I've used. I have a Purdy and multiple Wooster brushes, and I'll admit that I preferred the Wooster with the rubber handle until this brush. I also have a nylon 2 1/2 angle Wooster that I bought at the same time as this one and this one wins hands down. I am a simple diy'er, currently painting my whole home (started with, well the trim needs to be repainted but if I'm being honest I don't like the biscuit color that was here when we bought the house, but then we need to paint the walls... but if we paint the walls then we have to paint the ceiling since its the same color as the trim.......) so here I am, finally done with the ceiling and walls, now onto the trim and doors. I don't know what my problem is with Purdy but any project I do with it, no matter the care I take with it, I just end up with brush lines. Even with proper prepping, my Wooster gets gunky quicker than I would like, but this brush doesn't! It is smooth and no brush lines; currently paint with Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Enamaled paint, which doesn't set up super fast but doesn't have as much of a mess around with the paint time as some others. This brush cuts in perfectly, holds do much paint too in the oval shaping, but it doesn't just splatter everywhere, it releases as you drag, which is perfect for long brush strokes needed to prevent any brush lines. My panel doors are coming out great with just this brush, I haven't even used the chip in brush I thought I would need for the inside corners because this brush cuts in so amazingly! I've washed it about 5 times now and it is still perfect like new. I used simple dawn soap and a brush comb I got on Amazon as well and all the paint comes off so well it still looks new. It's holding up well and I still have many more doors and crown molding to do, but this brush will be my go to. My new favorite brush, beating out Purdy and Wooster in my opinion!*Edited my review, after using the brush about 3 more times and washing, (painting doors at the moment, with only enough room to paint 2 at a time) so I have to wash the brush frequently, but do so with warm soapy water, never bending the bristles or spraying inside the brush. I gently wash and comb with a brush comb, but fit some reason my brush has begun to hold water slightly, just in the crimp where the metal comes together. The metal seems to be loosening up, also making the bristles on the edge of the brush not lay down flat .... I love the brush for painting but I really liked the no drip feature until, well until mine dripped onto my hard wood floor ( it wiped up easily because it was so watery). So this brush is awesome until it starts to "break" or maybe mine is just defective where the metal crimps together, unable to be sure since I can't afford to buy another to compare just because it drips some and the bristles aren't completely comfored the way they should be anymore. Just disappointed in something that I thought would get me through the doors and trim in my home with quality proformance.As a long-time painting contractor, I often like to try new applicators to see if they can increase my profit margin by reducing the time I spend actually painting. This brush had good reviews so I thought I would give it a shot. Overall, it is a great brush for many painting purposes. The filaments do indeed hold paint with very little dripping or spattering. The solid core allows me to wet my brush prior to painting, or clean between colors and use the same brush without getting wet drips running down the handle. The brush also cleans up quickly since no paint gets down inside the furrule. The bristles on the 2.5" are long and very flexible, but do well with standard flat wall paint over flat wall paint. The bristles cut a nice edge and you can cover a long area before dipping back in the can. It leave very few brush strokes and the bristle fan out evenly and release the paint smoothly. These qualities make it a better brush in my opinion that most Purdy brushes or even Wooster. I am a fan of Corona All Americans, but for cutting in ceilings and walls in a 2500 ft sq of house with this brush made the job easy and quick. My only complaints would be that the handle is not shaped quite right for a comfortable grip. The shoulders of the handle have an edge that digs into your hand depending on how you hold it and the narrow handle might be more useful if it was a beaver tail style. I will update in the future when I see how it holds up to daily use and multiple product lines and conditions. This is not your fine tipped brush for doing mullions or detailed work, get a 2" All American for that.Definitely my go to for any hard to cover colorsI’ve been using this brush frequently for a few months doing baseboards, wood casement Windows, .primarily with Dunn Edwards Suprema as well as their Aristoshield and it has been nothing but a joy to use. It holds a ton of paint for its size; holds its shape great, and cleans up easily. It is a far better brush than any purdy or Wooster costing twice as much. I’m going to order this brush in 2.5” and the chisel tip 2.0” to add to the stable.One thing you don't want to see when unwrapping a brand new paint brush is 7 or 8 bristles bent out at a 25° angle. I ordered a 2nd one coming tomorrow, really hope that one isn't the same.Been painting for over 20 years and never used this brush. Finally tried it and it's great quality. I like it better than Purdy even. Will be buying many more of them.
