Has not been on the floor long enough to know about durability. The color & shine I really wanted was double the price, so I settled for second choice. Turned out good & saved me some work/step.This product is easy to use and we have professional looking results.Fairly easy to use, although keeping an even coat in a long straight line is not. You tend to get a heavy area, then a very thin area so you have to really work the stuff and be patient to get an even covering. Also when starting your next line you have to be cognizant of overlapping and creating "lines" in the finish, and again over-covering one area. I rented a drum sander and sanded the floors down 1st, NOT required, but recommended on the container. I'm nothing more than a do it yourselfer and for the money this stuff is GREAT!!! For around $200 I did my living room and dining room floors. They went from an old looking floors with a worn finish in the centers but still decent around the edges to really nice looking floors. If I were to have someone come in to refinish them I would probably have been looking at spending at least $2000. They were done in a weekend. sanded and refinished with 2 coatsEasy and quick to apply. I could do a relatively large living room in about an hour and with 2 hours between coats, I could finish 4 coats in less than a day. Dried so quickly that I could walk on it with socks 2 hours after the last coat. It felt like I could have put furniture back after 1 day but I waited the recommended 3 days.Too early to know about durability, looks good so far.A little pricey but considering that you don’t have to do a top coat of urethane and the ease of use it’s worth it.Only criticism is that the color is much darker than it appears on the can.We were hoping to use this product to cover about 650 square feet of dining room/livingroom. 2 gallons was sufficient for two coats. Our floor has sections, some running horizontal, some running vertical. For an average floor, where the floorboards all run in the same directions, it would be easy to start at one end, work a couple of feet wide to the other end, then repeat with the next section. Our sections dovetailed into each other, with staggered joints, so it was impossible to complete one section and then move on to the next section without portions drying out -- this has left areas where the overlayed stain was darker than stain right next to it. All in all, the instructions also cautioned not to have heavy traffic (I inferred from the "heavy furniture"), so we were unable to moved back into this area for over a week.We also had a problem with the Midwax filler we used. It was supposed to take stain, but either we let it harden too long or it doesn't take stain all that well, and everywhere the filler was used is many times lighter than the stained wood.I like the gunstock color, but my wife thinks it's too dark. It's darker than the sample we looked at.If I were to do this over again, I wouldn't use this one-step product. I'd use a stain first, and then a semi-gloss clear coat over the top. This probably would have resulted in a more even application of stain. We purchased a 100+ year old home and took on the task of refinishing the badly abused hardwoods. A lot of care went into the sanding and preparation of the floors. We were in a time crunch so decided to go with the Minwax complete instead of staining and adding multiple coats of poly. We knew our floors were never going to be perfect, but presentable was the goal.I made sure to mix the product well and apply as directed. Since we sanded everything completely I went with three coats. The smell was not really all that strong, and was done in the middle of summer with no AC so drying time was fast. I started with the painters pad as suggested but it was doing a really piss poor job so switched to a synthetic staining pad.In the end, we had areas of the floor where particles can be seen in daylight and that is super annoying, especially since I was vigilant about mixing for way longer than even suggested. You can also see some start and stop marks here and there which is probably due to the application in some spots where it was impossible to have one full line complete the length of three connected rooms. But I think what I was most disappointed with was the color. It is very dark. So dark in fact, I wouldn't' be shocked if someone told me the cans we received were mislabeled. Since the floor had some staining we couldn't get rid of completely, we intended to be placing area rugs throughout so this will do as the borders of the rooms were the least affected from damage. If I had to do it over again I would take the time to do the stain and poly. Also, the shipping on this was horrendous and took a week instead of two days. The product itself was great, just be sure to make sure that you receive the color that you ordered, I did not realize I received the wrong color until it was too late.I needed a darker stain for a badly stained floor from old, black looking dog urine stains on hardwood under old carpet and padding. It was quite a task. I scrubbed the floor, applied vinegar to the stains and scrubbed again. I used a random orbital sander to remove globs of red padding pieces stuck to the floor. It was a mess! I first tried to use a mop type applicator but it was not going on evenly. I was covering an older oak floor and decided the gunmetal stain would work best. I also switched to using microfiber cloths to apply the stain. It turned out much better than I had ever imagined. Love the results! Nice, clean, shiny floor is the result. Great product. Before and after photos. Much improved.
