The photo is misleading, but it might be there to show you which Brita Filter fits it - white one not the blue one? Not sure but I wanted the same style I have to have a backup, as it appears that other stores are no longer carrying the small slim 5-cup version any longer. With RA in hands/wrists now, the handle / shape and size - this is easier to handle. Would buy it again even without the filter, as I always buy sets of filters at one time. I love the white filter with the charcoal in it in the last few years vs the older Brita Filters that made water more like the old school softwater vs the nearer fresh clean charcoal modern taste. The charcoal white filters make the tap water as tasty as when I was a kid and drank water from the high sierra snow fed streams in California. Tastes as good or better to me then most of the popular bottled waters / saves the enviroment and lowers your water costs in the long run too. Win win.
